The absolute worst customer service I have experienced in the last 30 years... Aggressive, demeaning clerks. When my complaint was referred to Bob, the 'Grocery Manager', he became aggitated and overly aggressive, to the point that he had to be asked to back away. Even after being asked to back away by other shoppers, he refused. I do not feel safe shopping there anymore. For a wider selection and superior customer service, I highly suggest shopping at one of the other health food markets in the area - like Trader Joes or Henrys. I, nor anyone in my family, will ever shop at Jimbos again... |

Jimbo's carries things rarely found elsewhere, however, beware of grains in the bulk bins. I bought all organic grains there until I had a horrible infestation of Pantry Indian Moths in my home, identified after much research and submitting sample to a govenment agriculture agency. The bulk bins should be thoroughly cleaned when empty, before filling again. At Jimbo's, I've observed workers hurriedly filing up bins when they are close to empty, or empty--no cleaning! To get rid of them at home, shelves, etc. must be scrubbed, and I, to this day, use the Safer Pantry Moth Traps, and keep any grains I buy (not Jimbo's) in a freezer for 2 days to kill any eggs, then keep in tightly sealed containers in Fridge henceforth. Once the 'bugs' move in, it's nearly imposible to obliterate them completely! |

Escondido has an artisan bakery, Belen's, just a couple of blocks away, and they use organic grains. Shopping at a co-op or 'natural' food market is not about the bakery..hopefully if you are going to shop here, you'll look at more than baked goods to sustain yourself. There is also an excellent farmers' market on Grand, that is a source of locally grown produce, some of which is organic. If you're after packaged goods, then Jimbo's is a viable option, but not the only one. |

This is the second time we've taken my son to the emergency room after a trip to Jimbos. Nut allergys. Incorrectly labeled food. Be careful when you shop and read all the fine print. The vegetables, especially in winter are sometimes labeled organic, when in fact they are grown in Mexico and are not organic. Food temperatures on the hot food are not always hot. We never shopped here to get sick, and since this is the second trip to the ER, Mom isn't happy and will go back to shopping at the Farmers' Market. Produce is fresher and prices are cheaper. |

Jimbo's has an excellent bakery--one of the best. And the prices for baked goods are much lower than any decent bakery I've been to (much lower than Whole Foods). |

Jimbo's is the best there is. We are so lucky to have this great store. My husband loves the vegan German chocolate cake.
Thank you Jimbo's! |

Jimbos is big like whole foods but is not a big chain (there are two, I think) they do have a big meat section but also nearly all the vegetarian health food items you could want. They have more organic produce than Whole Foods too. It is more expensive than I'm used to at the co-op, but if you are in North County it's the best there is. Also it is worth the trip becaue they have the BEST selection of YUMMY vegan cakes and cookies out of all the markets, made in house! Take home a bunch! The Chocolate chip coconut cream pie is sooo good! |

I live in North County and this store is great! I think of it as between Whole Foods Market and People's Co-op in Ocean Beach. They serve delicious organic foods such as soups, hot foods, salads, etc. The quality is excellent.
It is slightly more pricey but not by much. The only thing I don't like is that the seafood is all farm raised. |
